This presentation will cover his life as the son of a former slave and a woman of English decent and then being raised by a White couple\, Anna and James Cochran\, to his travels across the United States\, founding Centerville (Centralia) and helping the townspeople through the Panic of 1893. \nLyceum Lectures are held in Washington Hall 103 or Corbet Theater.
